Security.  Freedom.  Honor.

Former US Marshal Antonio C. (Tony) Amador is the only candidate with the experience and leadership to represent the constituents of California’s 11th Congressional District. Tony Amador has experienced the “Horatio Alger” American dream.  Tony, one of 14 children, was born to immigrant Mexican farm workers in Murray, Utah and went on to serve three California governors and two Presidents in critical appointed positions.  Tony is married to his wife of 44 years, Evelia. They reside in Lodi, California, where they frequently entertain their four daughters and 13 grandchildren.

A Law Enforcement Professional
Tony Amador has an extensive law enforcement background that would make him unique in terms of background as a candidate for US Congress. Amador served as a patrol officer on the Los Angeles Police Department for 13 years. While with the Los Angeles Police Department he served as President of the Los Angeles Police Protective League. During his tenure as President of the League, he was responsible for the passage of AB301, a law enacted giving police officers procedural due process. This legislation is commonly known as the Police Officer’s Bill of Rights.

State Service
After his tenure at the LAPD, he was appointed to various positions by succeeding governors:

    * Board Member of the Narcotic Addict Evaluation Authority
    * Chairman of the Youthful Offender Parole Board
    * Director of the California Youth Authority
    * Deputy Director of the Employment Development Department
    * Member of California Public Employment Relations Board

Presidential Service to the Nation
President George H.W. Bush called Tony to Washington DC in 1990 to serve as the Vice-Chairman of the US Merit Systems Protection Board. Thereafter, President George W. Bush appointed Tony as the United States Marshal for the Eastern District of California in 2002, a position in which he served until his retirement in August, 2009. Thirty-four California counties lie within the geographic boundaries of the Eastern District, where Tony engendered a close cooperative working relationship with law enforcement agencies at the local, state and federal levels.

Amador: A Real Leader
Tony Amador has the real experience and background to represent California’s 11th Congressional District. In comparison, Rep. Jerry McNerney has become one of Pelosi’s lap dogs in Congress.  At a time when the public’s opinion is starting to turn dramatically against the big spending, radical left wing policies of Barack Obama and the Democratic Congress, Tony Amador will provide a welcomed alternative for the people of the district.
